Our most recent visit by OfSTED was in October 2017, where we were very pleased that the inspector agreed with school leaders that we are taking good and effective actions to be a good school again. They could see our results have improved over the last year and show a continued upward trajectory.

The school’s last full OfSTED inspection was in November 2016.  We were very disappointed to be judged as Requiring Improvement to be good, especially despite our early years and personal development and welfare of children to be judged good or outstanding.  Our Post OfSTED Action Plan is helping us to ensure we are good again at our next full inspection.

The SIAS inspection (Statutory Inspection of Anglican Schools) graded us as a good school overall, with outstanding features. They said:
“Birdham CE Primary School serves its community well. There are good relationships with the parish church and village. The Christian mission, expressed through a commitment to sustainability and care for God’s world, is evident in the school grounds and Eco centre. Relationships, underpinned by Christian values, are very strong.”
